________________________________
This Scholarship is in the memory of the Rev. W.W. McAlpin a 1928 graduate of Southern Baptist Seminary. He was instrumental in everything we do here in this ministry. The billboards we put up with the scripture verse " Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, He was buried and arose the third day, according to the scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15: 3 & 4 is on his tombstone, and what he carved on the hearts of all his grandchildren. His influence is clearly marked on every single member of his family and the standard he set as a grandfather is what we each one try to adhere to and set for our future generations. He was a rural Kentucky preacher and church builder who touched the lives for the better of many people in Kentucky. He was known as "Daddy Mac" to his grandchildren and many people in the community called him that too! As the patriarch of the McAlpin family his loving advice and guidance and calm solid demeanor was the foundation of us as a family and not a day goes by to what he is not thought about and as our love for him, we seek to give these scholarships in his memory as a way to honor God through his memory.
